CodeDev Group, also known as The Unreal Guys, announced the launch of the Full Spectrum Interactive (FSI) studio, dedicated to small and mid-sized titles.
The new studio is led by British professionals with experience in the games industry. Matt Southern serves as studio head, Christian McKinney as creative director, and Rob Williams as technology director.
The CodeDev Group leadership also includes Rik Alexander (chairman), Myke Parrott (CEO), and Nina Cliff (business development director).
Full Spectrum Interactive works on original prototypes and will offer full co-production services for projects. To do so, it will rely on professionals from The Unreal Guys and the optimization division The Performance Guys, in the areas of engineering, design, and technical art.
Technology director Rob Williams said that access to the CodeDev team is a major advantage for a small studio. "We can quickly and easily find and integrate talented senior professionals, and reduce the team after a project without losing jobs or institutional knowledge," he said. He added that the low-risk environment allows assembling the right team for each project, without compromises.
Matt Southern, studio head, said that making games has always been a collaborative combination of arts and sciences, driven by experts seeking to push creative boundaries. "At FSI, we bring together the full spectrum of that interdisciplinary talent under one roof to deliver games with real impact – crafted with care, delivered with reliability, and designed to perform well."
