Sony and PlayStation announced Ghost of Yōtei: Complete Edition this Thursday (12), the definitive version of the open-world action game that will launch for PS5 on October 1. The edition brings new missions, a roguelike survival mode, and the ability to upgrade for those who already own the base game.

Developed by Sucker Punch, the original title was released in 2025. The Complete Edition is presented as an expanded version in the mold of Ghost of Tsushima's Director's Cut, and includes the online co-op mode Legends, the Digital Deluxe Edition content, new music in Watanabe Mode, new Photo Mode stamps, additional cosmetics for New Game Plus, and new trophies.

Echoes of Sekigahara

One of the main additions is the story expansion Echoes of Sekigahara, which alternates between the present and flashbacks of protagonist Atsu on the mainland. In the present, the character explores an all-new valley that once belonged to The Snake and his followers, the Vipers. In the past, the player follows Atsu's participation in the Battle of Sekigahara, a decisive moment before her return to Ezo in pursuit of revenge. The expansion also adds new enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets, and dyes.

Most Wanted Mode

Most Wanted Mode is a new roguelike survival option. In it, the player accepts contracts and eliminates enemies, becoming more powerful with each kill and gaining new tools. It's also possible to unlock playable characters, each specialized in one of the game's weapons.

Upgrade for those who already own the game

Owners of Ghost of Yōtei on PS5 will be able to purchase the upgrade bundle for the Complete Edition for £11.99 / US$ 14.99. The upgrade is available for accounts that have the base game registered as purchased.
