Business Insider revealed, based on an internal document, that Oracle plans a new round of layoffs to reduce personnel costs amid investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure.

The number of affected employees was not disclosed. In some departments, the cuts are expected to reach a double-digit percentage, and the company asked managers to submit lists of layoff candidates.

The layoffs are expected to be completed by September 1, 2026. In fiscal year 2026, Oracle spent US$ 55.7 billion on AI infrastructure.

In April, The Economic Times reported that an earlier wave of cuts at Oracle had affected about 30,000 employees. Some of those laid off tried to get better severance terms, but the company refused to renegotiate.
