Robot.com has revealed the R-dog, a quadruped delivery robot designed to cover the last 100 meters of a route and serve as an interactive advertising platform. The company said the concept is expected to begin commercial operations in 2027.

The R-dog handles stairs, curbs, thresholds and uneven terrain, situations where wheeled robots cannot operate. The equipment can travel through dense urban streets, residential neighborhoods and university, hospital and corporate campuses.

The robot has a compartment for multiple items, allowing it to carry stacked food orders and regular packages without swapping hardware. It delivers autonomously, without an attendant, and moves on to the next task.

For advertising use, the R-dog uses the R-ads suite. Brands will be able to send and manage campaigns remotely on the robot's two video screens, which act as an interactive out-of-home advertising channel.

REMI platform and partnership with FieldAI

The R-dog operates integrated with REMI, Robot.com's platform for managing and orchestrating the entire fleet. Felipe Chavez Cortes, CEO and co-founder of the company, said that “a decade building delivery robots taught us that most robots hit a wall in the last 100 meters, leaving a person to finish the job manually.” For him, the R-dog is the company's answer to that problem.

The company also expanded its collaboration with FieldAI. The Field Foundation Models (FFMs) act as an AI layer that generalizes use across different robots and environments. Ali Agha, founder and CEO of FieldAI, said that “every delivery ends where FFMs are strongest, in the last dynamic and unpredictable 100 meters, where the map ends.”

The R-dog joins R-kiwi, R-cargo, R-noid and R-ads in the company's portfolio. More than 500 of the company's robots operate in the United States, Canada, Dubai and the MENA region, with more than 2.5 million completed tasks.
