The Rockstar Games has spoken out this Wednesday (26) about the series of videos of Grand Theft Auto VI that circulated without authorization in recent days. The studio classified the leaks as painful for the team and warned that some spoilers may affect the experience planned for players.
The company maintained the release of GTA 6 for November 19, 2026 and confirmed that it will present an extended preview of the game this Thursday (27). The release date also remains published on the official page of the title.
The game is, according to Rockstar, "almost ready." The official presentation will be shown first on Netflix and will arrive hours later on YouTube and on the developer's website.
In the statement, Rockstar stated that the leaked videos do not represent the way it intended to present GTA 6 to the public after years of development. The studio also apologized for the delay in releasing more details and official images of the project.
The company acknowledged that the early circulation of content may reveal elements that should be discovered during the game, but asked fans to wait for the release to experience the final version.
The leaks intensified throughout the last week, with more than a dozen gameplay videos appearing on the internet. Part of the material shows excerpts from the game world and situations involving the protagonists Jason and Lucia.
Rockstar did not detail, in its statement, how the material was obtained nor address the measures taken to identify those responsible for the leaks.
GTA 6 will have an extended presentation on August 27
The next official reveal will be Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, scheduled for August 27. According to Rockstar, the presentation starts at 15:00 Eastern Time on Netflix.
The content will be made available later on Rockstar's official YouTube channel and on the GTA 6 website, at 21:00 Eastern Time.
GTA 6 will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19. The story follows Jason and Lucia in Vice City and the fictional state of Leonida.
