Sega announced this Monday (26) that Sonic X Shadow Generations surpassed 3 million units sold worldwide. The result was achieved two years after the game's release, which originally came to consoles and PC in October 2024.
The new milestone represents an advance over January 2025, when the company reported that the title had surpassed 2 million units sold. The figures include physical copies and digital sales across all platforms, according to data released by Sega.
Released on October 25, 2024, Sonic X Shadow Generations brings together a remastered version of Sonic Generations, with classic 2D and 3D stages, and a new campaign starring Shadow the Hedgehog.
The game debuted on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, through Steam and the Epic Games Store. It later received a version for Nintendo Switch 2, released on June 5, 2025.
The total disclosed corresponds to units actually sold, not free downloads or active players. Sega did not provide a breakdown of sales by platform or region in the new statement.
