Bandai Namco presented the first gameplay trailer for Roger Jr. in Tekken 8 during Evo France 2026, on Sunday (11). The character returns after more than a decade and will be released on November 17, with early access on the 12th for players who own the third season pass.

The third additional character of the season, Roger Jr. had not appeared since Tekken Tag Tournament 2. His return preserves the dynamic between the little kangaroo and his mother, who is responsible for most of the attacks, but incorporates new moves and animations.

According to the development team, the character was designed for close-range combat, combining throws, acrobatic attacks and different offensive stances.

New stances expand attacks, but require Heat control

The move set includes Rocket Stance, Astronauts and Bobbin Dance, three stances with distinct functions.

Rocket Stance allows performing low attacks and throws with simplified commands. Astronauts, meanwhile, uses jumps to deliver powerful hits, including options that maintain an advantage even when blocked, although it requires riskier moves to access the stance.

The main new feature appears during the Heat state, when Roger Jr. gains access to Bobbin Dance. The stance allows alternating between a high attack that cannot be blocked and a mid attack capable of starting an aerial combo.

This advantage has an important limitation: the sequences consume a significant portion of the remaining Heat time. This requires carefully choosing when to use them, since an unsuccessful attempt reduces offensive opportunities.

The trailer also reveals a new Rage Art in which the duo throws the opponent to the Moon, preserving the character's signature humor.

Roger Jr. will be available through the Season 3 Pass or as individual DLC, with early access on November 12 and general release on the 17th.
