Affirm announced on Thursday (22) a multiyear exclusive partnership with Sam's Club, a U.S. warehouse club chain, to offer installment payments to eligible customers. The service will initially be integrated into the retailer's e-commerce, with expansion to physical stores planned for 2027.
The new option is expected to become available on SamsClub.com in the coming weeks. The integration will allow consumers to finance eligible purchases through monthly installments, with amounts and terms presented before the agreement is made.
The agreement covers purchases of US$ 500 or more, subject to credit approval. The review will be conducted individually at the time of each transaction, and the terms offered may vary depending on the purchase amount and the consumer's profile.
The plans may include interest and require a down payment. Affirm says it does not charge late fees or apply compound interest. Before confirming the transaction, the customer can check the amount of each installment and the expected date to pay off the financing.
Wayne Pommen, Affirm's chief revenue officer, highlighted in the statement that the offering allows consumers to know their financial obligations in advance and select a payment schedule suited to their needs.
The expansion to physical locations is planned for 2027, but the company has not yet disclosed a specific date for this phase. Availability of the financing will remain subject to eligibility criteria and applicable restrictions.
With the partnership, Sam's Club will now have an additional payment option for higher-value purchases, while Affirm will expand its presence in the American chain's sales channels.
