The Aion 2, an MMORPG from NCSoft, reached 397,905 concurrent players on Steam after its global debut, held on Sunday (5). Considering also users connected via its own Purple launcher, the company states that the total peak surpassed 400,000 concurrent players.

The number represents the highest peak recorded by the title on Valve's platform. During early access, which began on September 30 for buyers of the Founder's Packs, Aion 2 had reached about 171,000 concurrent players on Steam. The free opening, therefore, more than doubled the user peak.

NCSoft launched the global PC version via Steam and Purple, with servers dedicated to North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, with a focus on Japan. Steam and Purple share the same servers, but SteamDB's public numbers count only users connected via Valve's platform.

Aion 2 leads Steam rankings

In addition to the player volume, the launch put the MMORPG at the top of various rankings on the platform. During early access, Aion 2 remained in first place among the top sellers globally and led the category in 15 countries. On October 6, it also held first place among popular releases and featured free games.

Even before the global debut, the game had surpassed 1.3 million Steam wishlist additions, according to NCSoft. The international version also supports eight languages, including Brazilian Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Russian, and Korean.

Aion 2 is free and was developed in Unreal Engine 5. The title continues the franchise started with Aion and keeps elements such as aerial exploration, faction combat, PvE, and PvP. The global version arrives after the game's original debut in South Korea, in November 2025.
