Battlefield 6 joined the EA Play catalog this Tuesday (13th), allowing Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers to access the full game without having to buy it separately. The arrival on the service coincided with the launch of the fifth season, Siege of Vegas, which added new maps, weapons and game modes.
Update 2.1.1.0 also introduced changes to combat, vehicle adjustments and stability improvements. However, not all the new features announced for the season are available from launch. Part of the content will be distributed in updates planned for November and December.
Access through EA Play includes the main version of Battlefield 6 and benefits for subscribers, such as seasonal rewards and discounts on digital content. The Game of the Year edition, which brings together additional bonuses and progression features, is not included in the subscription.
What arrived in Season 5 and what is left for December
The first stage of Siege of Vegas made two maps available: Vegas Strip, set among casinos, hotels and streets of Las Vegas, and Area 51, which combines clashes with military vehicles in desert areas and infantry combat in underground facilities.
The arsenal received four weapons: the Mk 24 assault rifle, the RSPR submachine gun, the Z84M light machine gun and the ELR-40 sniper rifle. The additions are part of a plan that foresees six weapons and three maps over the course of the season.
Another new feature is Rapid Royale, a free mode in Battlefield REDSEC with faster matches, fewer participants and options for individual players or trios. The update also marked the official launch of Battle Royale ranked matches, previously tested in Battlefield Labs.
The schedule released by Electronic Arts sets out two upcoming stages:
- November 10: Casino Heist update, with the season's third map, European Casino, focused on infantry combat in indoor environments.
- December 8: Frozen Aces update, which anticipates the arrival of Platoons, a tool for organizing player communities, and Server Browser, a feature to find servers and matches. Improvements to the Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City maps are also planned.
These features are part of the season's plan, but they were not part of the update made available on October 13.
In addition to its inclusion on the Game Pass, EA announced a free period to try Battlefield 6 in October. The promotional window is presented as October 15 to 19, although the official conditions provide for an early start on October 14 on PlayStation and specific times for each platform. Unlike access through EA Play, the trial is temporary and subject to restrictions.
