Internal emails obtained and verified by Windows Central reveal that Blizzard ended Microsoft's fiscal year 2026 as the best-performing studio within Xbox Game Studios.

Blizzard President Johanna Faries shared the results with the team in an email ahead of BlizzCon 2026, citing Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred and Overwatch as the drivers of the company's 2nd consecutive year of growth. "In fiscal year 2026, Blizzard ended the year as the best-performing studio in the Xbox studios division, and this past year marked the third-highest revenue in Blizzard's history," Faries wrote.

Faries also highlighted Overwatch as having "its strongest quarter since 2022."

Microsoft does not disclose per-studio revenue in its public financial reports, and neither the company nor Blizzard has officially confirmed the numbers cited in the leaked emails. The reported growth contrasts with the overall performance of the Xbox division.

Blizzard is expected to detail its upcoming releases at BlizzCon 2026, scheduled for September 12 in Anaheim. The company continues to operate with a degree of separation from the rest of Microsoft's gaming business since the acquisition completed in October 2023, after an investigation by the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).
