An EA Sports confirmed the return of the Fight Night boxing franchise, which has not received a new game in 15 years. The announcement was made on Tuesday (20), through the series' official social media, but the company has not yet revealed when the next title will be released.
The confirmation came with a short message: “Fight Night is coming back”. The post ends years of uncertainty about the continuation of the franchise, although it does not present details about the project.
The last release in the series was Fight Night Champion, in 2011, for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game became known for its realistic approach to boxing and for the Champion mode, which featured a narrative campaign centered on the fictional fighter Andre Bishop.
Since then, Electronic Arts has focused its efforts on fighting games in the EA Sports UFC franchise, dedicated to mixed martial arts. No new main installment of Fight Night was released during that period.
Despite the confirmation, EA Sports has not yet announced the release date, the available platforms, the roster of boxers, or the price. No gameplay images or details about the game modes were released either.
The company has not set a timeline for presenting new information about the series' return.
