Meta opened this Friday (2) part of the infrastructure of Muse so that developers can connect the AI agent to their own devices and hardware manufactured by other companies. The project, called Muse Gadgets, includes firmware and development kits for ESP32 boards and Linux computers.
The initiative allows turning off-the-shelf boards, Raspberry Pis and other compatible equipment into physical interfaces for Muse. Developers can connect screens, buttons, microphones, speakers, sensors and actuators and define how the agent interacts with these components.
The code for the SDKs and firmware was published under the license Apache 2.0. Meta presents as examples electronic ink screens to display reminders and lists, portable devices with screen and audio and a future solution connected to the HDMI input of televisions.
The opening, however, does not mean that Muse can be incorporated without the company's control. Each device requires an SDK token to be paired, and configuration occurs through the Muse app for iOS or Android with developer mode enabled.
Meta also launches a bridge between Muse and home devices
Alongside the SDKs, the company introduced the Muse Home Link, a small device powered by USB-C that connects the agent to the home Wi-Fi network. From it, skills developed by the community can allow Muse to control compatible equipment or systems with a local HTTP API, including lights, televisions and printers.
Home Link will be offered free of charge to active Muse subscribers in the United States, limited to one unit per account. Meta states that the first devices will be shipped in October. The company initially produced about 5,000 units.
The change expands the strategy presented by Meta at Connect 2026, when the company announced it would bring Muse to its smart glasses and introduced Muse Charm, a pocket device created specifically for interaction with the agent. Now, instead of limiting the software to its own product line, the company is starting to allow developers to build new physical interfaces around Muse.
