Samsung Electronics and Checkout.com announced on Monday (19) a global partnership to expand payment processing on the South Korean manufacturer's digital platforms. The agreement includes the expansion of services in Europe and North America, as well as the integration of Samsung Pay into the Flow payment platform.
Checkout.com already processes transactions for Samsung operations in the Middle East, including purchases made through Samsung.com. With the expansion, the company will begin serving other markets and digital services, including the Galaxy Store and Samsung's online store.
The partnership also incorporates Intelligent Acceptance, a Checkout.com technology that uses artificial intelligence and transaction data to optimize payment approvals and reduce processing failures. Although these are the capabilities announced for the solution, the companies did not disclose conversion or performance results arising from the expansion.
Woncheol Chai, executive vice president of Samsung Electronics, said that the manufacturer needs a flexible, reliable payments infrastructure capable of keeping pace with its international expansion. According to the executive, the agreement will make it possible to build a more consistent foundation for the company's digital commerce operations.
Samsung Pay will arrive at Flow on October 31
The second area of the partnership calls for making Samsung Pay available on Flow starting October 31, 2026. The Checkout.com platform allows merchants to integrate different payment methods into their checkout systems with less development required.
With the integration, companies that use Flow will be able to offer Samsung Pay as a payment option for online and in-app purchases, expanding the options available to consumers.
The announcement establishes a commercial expansion in two directions: Checkout.com takes on a greater role in Samsung's payments infrastructure, while the manufacturer's digital wallet begins to reach merchants served by the platform. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
