Chile's Superintendence of Gaming Casinos (SCJ) reported that it received two proposals for casino operating permits in Coquimbo and Pucón. The hearing for the presentation of technical and economic bids took place on Tuesday (11) and also included the municipalities of Iquique and Viña del Mar, which had no applicants.
The bids came from Casino de Juegos de Coquimbo S.A. and Casino Volcán Pucón S.A. The processes were opened by Exempt Resolutions No. 112, 113, 114 and 115, issued on January 23, 2026.
Technical evaluation
With the close of proposal reception, the SCJ begins evaluating technical offers, a stage that may last up to 120 days. The agency will analyze the background and characteristics of the projects before the following stages.
Iquique and Viña del Mar
In Iquique and Viña del Mar, no project was submitted. The SCJ will have to restart the processes and define new special conditions, which will be incorporated into the respective technical bases. As a result, the two municipalities will undergo a new call.
