Constructor announced the Agentic Checkout, a feature that integrates Stripe payments into its shopping agents and allows consumers to search for products, ask questions, refine options, and complete the purchase without leaving the conversation. The feature is available globally for retailers that use the company's agents.
The checkout already works within the AI Shopping Agent and the AI Product Insights Agent. Payment can be made via Link by Stripe or through other methods supported by Stripe's infrastructure.
In practice, the change expands the agent's role within the funnel. Instead of ending after search or recommendation, the conversation now reaches the conversion itself, reducing the need to direct the consumer to a separate checkout step.
Stripe already develops infrastructure for this model on other fronts, including solutions that allow agents to discover products, initiate payments, and complete transactions outside traditional stores.
TikTok also brings conversation and payment closer together
The launch comes as other platforms bring AI agents closer to checkout. TikTok also introduced features that combine shopping assistance and payment within the app, with partners such as Stripe, Shopify, and Salesforce.
The difference lies in where this interaction happens. Constructor places the agent inside the retailer's own site or app. TikTok keeps discovery and purchase on its platform, while external agents can shift part of the journey to independent interfaces.
This division makes it more important to define where consumer intent is captured, where conversion is attributed, and which systems concentrate purchase data. With payment embedded in the conversation, the agent now occupies a step previously controlled almost exclusively by traditional checkout.
Constructor says it intends to expand Agentic Checkout to more points in retailers' digital experience still in 2026.
