Flipkart has expanded its fast delivery operation to more than 150 cities in India, with a network of nearly 1,200 logistics microcenters and a catalog of more than 77,000 products. The structure is part of the company's preparation for Big Billion Days 2026, an annual sales campaign that starts this Friday (9), after early access opened this Thursday (8).

The figures were presented in a statement released on October 6. The company said that Flipkart Minutes grew fourfold compared with the previous year and began serving more than 9,000 postal codes. The service, launched in August 2024, is expanding its coverage to mid-sized cities, in addition to India's main metropolitan regions.

The expansion also increases the variety of goods available for delivery in minutes. The Minutes catalog brings together more than 1,400 categories, including food, everyday products, electronics, fashion and gifts. The service works within Flipkart's main app and also through its own Android app.

How Flipkart expanded its network to compete in fast deliveries

The immediate delivery infrastructure is only one part of the logistics expansion. Ekart, Flipkart's logistics operation, added 14 million cubic feet of storage space, increasing its stocking capacity by 50%. Investments in automation also increased processing capacity by more than 30% during peak periods.

The company incorporated more than 900 distribution centers for the final delivery stage and began serving more than 750 additional postal codes, including localities such as Leh and Kargil, in northern India, and communities in the country's northeastern region.

The two networks serve different needs. While Minutes concentrates inventories near consumers for delivery in minutes, Ekart supports conventional distribution and expands the availability of same-day or next-day deliveries.

This expansion allows Flipkart to use the October campaign to offer different delivery methods depending on the product and the consumer's location.

Part of that infrastructure had already been presented in September. On the 11th, Flipkart reported that its customer base in mid-sized and small cities had grown nearly 25 times in a year. The expansion of storage capacity was detailed on September 29, before the company consolidated the figures for the October campaign.

To meet anticipated demand, Flipkart also positioned in advance more than 25 million units of products from small sellers, artisans and smaller companies in its logistics centers. The measure seeks to reduce the time between order confirmation and shipment of goods during the peak period.
