Panama's regulated gambling market moved US$ 1,607.8 million in the first half of 2026, up 16.5% from the same period a year earlier. Online betting led the growth, advancing 59.8% with US$ 379.7 million in bets.
Type “A” slot machines continue to account for the largest share of the market: US$ 1,113.5 million in the half, about 69% of the total, and up 7% in the annual comparison.
The market's growth, however, was not uniform. Racetrack, sports betting, and instant games posted declines in the period.
Loteria Nacional falls 4.1%
Lotería Nacional de Beneficencia (LNB) saw sales of tickets and chances fall 4.1% in the first half of 2026. Among the factors affecting the institution are the clandestine sale of foreign lotteries, tied sales, and the illegal overcharging by authorized sellers.
