PlusAI, an autonomous truck company, announced it reached 93.4% Safety Case readiness in the first half of 2026, compared with 90.1% in the second half of 2025. The company says the index keeps the schedule for commercial launch of factory-built autonomous trucks in 2027.

Safety Case Readiness measures progress in completing the engineering evidence required for safe commercial operation. PlusAI expects to reach 100% of the index in 2027, before the deployment of trucks equipped with the SuperDrive autonomous driving system.
David Liu, CEO and co-founder of PlusAI, said the semiannual publication of commercial readiness metrics offers a transparent view of progress. "Operational improvements, combined with the commercial milestones recently achieved, show that PlusAI is advancing in a measurable way toward the deployment of factory-built autonomous trucks at commercial scale," he said.
Compared with the previous half, the share of miles driven autonomously in commercial operations rose from 99.2% to 99.8%. The percentage of trips completed without intervention from remote operators went from 79% to 85.2%. The company's goal is to exceed 90% before the commercial launch.
Expansion and partnerships
In the first half, PlusAI began a commercial test of autonomous fleets with International and Ryder on the I-35 freight corridor in Texas, and announced plans to bring autonomous trucks to southern Europe in partnership with Spain's Sesé and the government of Aragon.
The company also launched SuperDrive 6.0, with enhancements in artificial intelligence, processing power, night driving, and navigation in construction zones. With Nvidia, it expanded collaboration to use the Alpamayo foundation model, the Drive Hyperion platform and Halos safety technologies. It also obtained four ISO certifications and expanded commercial partnerships in Europe and Japan.
Shawn Kerrigan, COO and co-founder, said commercializing autonomous trucks requires more than a capable AI system. "It is necessary to prove that the system is safe, reliable and operationally efficient, in partnership with manufacturers, fleets and other ecosystem players," he said.
PlusAI's strategy is to integrate autonomous driving technology into trucks produced by manufacturers, rather than retrofitting vehicles after production. The company works with Scania, MAN, International, Hyundai Motor Company, Iveco Group, Ryder, Bosch, DSV and Goodyear.
