Stripe now offers eligible companies in the United States the ability to send stablecoin payments directly to recipients' cryptocurrency wallets in more than 160 markets. The feature is part of Global Payouts and allows international transfers without requiring the recipient to have an account on the platform.
The geographic expansion was announced by the company on October 16, 2026. The documentation available on November 4 details the conditions of use, including the accepted cryptocurrencies, compatible blockchain networks and access restrictions.
The service allows transfers in USDC, a stablecoin issued by Circle, and Open USD (OUSD), from Open Standard. Companies can fund payments with dollar or USDC balances held in their Stripe financial accounts. When necessary, the platform performs the conversion before forwarding the funds to the chosen blockchain network.
USDC can be sent over nine networks, including Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, Base and Arbitrum. OUSD, meanwhile, is compatible with Base, Ethereum, Solana and Tempo. According to Stripe, funds usually arrive in wallets within a few minutes, although congestion and other network conditions can cause delays.
Companies outside the US still cannot use the service
International coverage does not mean that companies established in the more than 160 markets can initiate transfers. Sending is restricted to companies located in the United States, except for those headquartered in New York, which still must wait for the feature to be released.
Brazil is among the markets enabled to receive payments. To use the feature, the sending company must have access to a Stripe Treasury financial account and register the recipient's details, including a wallet compatible with the selected stablecoin and network.
The solution remains in public preview for payments to crypto wallets. A different option, which allows using stablecoin balances for transfers to bank accounts in local currencies, remains in private preview.
Stripe sets a fee of US$ 0.50 plus 0.5% of the amount transferred. Thus, a payment of US$ 1,000 has a basic cost of US$ 5.50, before any additional fees. The company also plans to charge on monthly volumes that exceed US$ 1 million in payouts.
Global Payouts can be used directly through the Stripe administrative dashboard or integrated into applications via APIs, allowing companies to automate payments to suppliers, service providers and other international recipients.
