Italy's Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM) has ordered internet providers to block 190 unauthorized gambling sites. The measure, registered on August 5, sets a deadline of August 20 for compliance.
Expanding the list
The order was signed by ADM's Gambling Control Office under protocol 00540333 and applies to all connectivity providers. The measure expands the list published by the agency on July 10, which providers must use in full when carrying out the redirects.
Legal basis
The block is based on Article 102, paragraph 1, of Decree-Law 104 of August 14, 2020, converted into Law 126 of October 13, 2020. The provision authorizes ADM to order the removal of initiatives that offer or advertise gambling and tobacco products in breach of the rules.
Paragraph 2 of the same article establishes that publication on ADM's institutional website serves as formal notice, requiring providers to monitor the list continuously.
Technical redirect
Since April 2026, blocked domains must be directed to an HTTPS address, replacing the IP address previously used. The destination page states that the block was carried out by ADM under Article 102.
The obligation to meet the deadline lies with connectivity providers, not with the operators of the listed sites.
