A Salesforce presented this Monday (14) the Carter, an artificial intelligence agent for e-commerce that lets users search and compare products, answer questions, and complete the purchase without leaving the conversation. The feature is already available, according to the company.
The agent integrates data and processes from Salesforce Customer 360 and can be customized by each company, including with a different name. The technology accesses information such as catalog, inventory, and orders to guide different stages of the shopping journey.
Carter brings discovery and payment into the same conversation
The main change is concentrating in a single interface steps that normally require different pages or systems. The consumer can search for products, receive recommendations, and move on to checkout directly through chat.
Carter expands the Agentforce Commerce strategy, which already uses AI agents in retail operations. Salesforce says that the Hibbett AI currently conducts 90% of the main shopping journeys of retailer Hibbett.
The launch comes as AI assistants gain ground in product discovery and begin to advance on stages traditionally controlled by e-commerce sites, including customer service, recommendations, and payment.
